We Hope You Never Have To…

We hope you never hear the words,  

"Your child has cancer."

We hope you never have to watch them endure chemo,  

Lose their hair, their strength, their childhood—  

Yet still look at you and say,  

“It’s going to be okay, Mommy.”

We hope you never have to sleep on hospital floors,  

Feed ice chips instead of lunch,  

Or hear, “There’s nothing more we can do.”

We hope you never hold your child as they scream in fear,  

Or take them home in a wheelchair—grateful, but afraid.

We hope you never meet brave little warriors  

Only to mourn their passing days later.

We hope you never live in fear of cancer returning—  

Because only then would you truly understand.

**Our children deserve more than 4%.**
